Wirral Branch Car Outing 5 May 2003

This year's Car Outing, on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday, saw us visiting towers the South Cheshire Branch of our Guild. The event was well supported - 19 ringers in all taking part - and the weather was generally fine and sunny. The outing commenced at Church Lawton (no pictures yet) and concluded with Malpas - although an earlier lock-out at the leaning tower of Wybunbury (pronounced Winbury) led to the host contacting us later in the day to offer access in the evening. This offer was gratefully accepted by 10 of the party, most of whom had not rung there before. Overall, a most successful outing. Thanks to Steve Hughes (Bromborough) for his excellent organisation, to the 'letters-in' and, of course, to those Wirral ringers (all of them!) whose support ensured success.
