RECORD PEAL LENGTH ATTEMPT
You may wish to note that a record 'Double-Peal' of Uxbridge Surprise Major is being attempted by a mostly past and present Wirral Branch ringers' band at Port Sunlight on the occasion of the centenary of the church and the bells.
The attempt, also on 22nd May, commences at 10 a.m., the date dictated by the only Saturday free of weddings near to actual date of the centenary (8th June).
If successful this will also be the longest length rung in any Wirral Branch tower. Arrangements are in hand for a 'video-link' to be set up so that the ringers may be viewed in action from within the church. The opportunity is also being taken to raise funds towards the purchase of a new handbell as part of the Handbells Reburbishment Project. Please come along to witness this unique Wirral event - but not necessarily for the whole six hours!
