1. The Competition is open to all Wirral ringers.
2. A ringer may ring in no more than two bands.
BANDS
3. A Tower may enter as many bands as it can muster, each band including a
maximum of two ringers already included in any other of the said Tower's bands,
but all must be Sunday Service ringers at the said tower.
4. At the discretion of the Ringing Master, bands comprising ringers from
more than one tower may participate in the event.
5. All bands must ring on the same day.
6. A draw for the order of ringing will be made at the start of the
competition and must not be divulged to the judges. Where there is a need, a
band may request to ring in a different position in the order, provided this is
agreed with the Ringing Master and other bands affected.
RINGING REQUIREMENTS
7. Prior to ringing the chosen Test Piece, a band is allowed 5 minutes
practice, excluding time required for rope adjustment.
8. The Test Piece must comprise either:
10. Opening and closing rounds will not be marked.
9. Two whole pulls on the Treble will signal to the Judge/s that the Test Piece is
about to start.
JUDGING
11. The Judge/s may use any system of marking.
12. The Judge/s' decision shall be final.
RESULTS
13. The band placed highest by the Judge/s will be declared the overall
winner.
14. The Tower band comprised solely of ringers who are paid-up members of the
Guild and which is placed highest will be awarded the A.J. Martin Shield and
will be expected to represent Wirral in the Guild inter-branch 6-Bell
competition.
