The new Gift Aid scheme introduced at the start of the tax year commencing 6 April 2000 is designed to make giving easier.
It replaces the previous schemes for Covenants and Gift Aids.
Existing Covenants with the Guild dated prior to 6 April 2000 will continue to be valid until they expire. The old Gift Aid limit (minimum donation £250.00) has been abolished and a new simpler and more flexible form of Gift Aid declaration introduced.
Anyone who pays tax (at any rate) on income or capital gains can sign a Gift Aid Declaration. You must pay at least as much tax on your income and capital gains as the Guild will reclaim each year on your donations (currently 28p for every £1 you give).
Simply complete the relevant part of the Gift Aid Declaration Form available from your Branch Secretary or Treasurer (or on the Wirral Branch Website).
One part of the form covers Annual Subscriptions, the other all donations you wish to make.
The relevant section of the form must be completed with your Full Name (Forename, Initials and Surname), address, POSTCODE and date of declaration.
