80TH BIRTHDAY OF H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II
21st April 2006

Last updated 2 May 2006

To mark the occasion of the eightieth birthday of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, church bells throughout the country were rung in celebration.

The list below summarises all such ringing in the Wirral area and by bands comprising Wirral ringers elsewhere.

PEALS

Peal attempts at St Bartholomew's, Thurstaston on Sunday 23rd, and at St Peter, Heswall on 29th April, both unfortunately, came to grief when over half completed.
However, there was a successful Peal of Stedman Cinques rung Monday 17th April at Chester Cathedral. The band included four Wirral ringers, including Peter Hughes, for whom this was his first peal of Stedman Cinques as Conductor.
