CHESTER DIOCESAN GUILD OF CHURCH BELL RINGERS:
WIRRAL BRANCH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
22nd NOVEMBER 2003 AT OXTON.

Present: Mr A J Martin (Chairman), Revd Peter Mills and 24 ringers (including 1 visitor) representing 10 Wirral Branch towers.

Apologies for absence: Revd Diane Watson, Geoff and Susan Sparling, Robert Peers, Brenda Humphreys, Peter Hughes, Ben Willetts, Mark Humphreys, Sharon Williams, John Hyden & Gavin Price.

Minutes of AGM held 23rd November 2002 at Bromborough, previously circulated to the meeting, were taken as read and accepted, whereupon Revd Peter Mills signed the Minute Book.

Matters Arising: None.

Statement of Accounts: The Treasurer commented on the statement, copies pre-circulated, whereupon it was agreed the accounts be accepted. Discussion on 'Gift Aiding' of subscriptions and donations ensued. The Treasurer advised that any monies in excess of the £6 annual subscription would be paid to the Guild BRF if Gift Aided otherwise to the Branch BRF.

Branch Officers: The following nominations for 2004 were proposed.
President: Revd Peter Mills (Woodchurch); Chairman: Mr A.J. Martin;
Secretary: P.F. Humphreys; Treasurer: C.J. Eden;
Ringing Master: R.T.J. Tinkler; Webmaster: P.F. Humphreys;
Hon. Accounts Examiner: Mr W. Harrison.
Guild Committee Representatives: Secretary (ex officio), Mr P W Robson and Janet Jones.
Committee: The Chairman, Ringing Master, Secretary, Treasurer, Guild Committee Representatives, Sharon Williams, Steven Hughes and John Collinson.
The nominations were each approved in turn.
In response to his election, Revd Mills thanked the meeting for their support both in his election and in their assistance in ringing at Holy Cross, Woodchurch where there was presently no band. He also advised that his three children had, at some time, each been ringers and that his grandson (see below) was now ringing at West Kirby.
In response to the suggestion by the newly elected President, it was proposed and agreed that Branch Representatives on the Guild Committee be ex-officio members of the Branch Committee. This was agreed unanimously during the election procedure.
