Report of first Peal on the Bells | from Bell News of 1881.
Bromborough (Cheshire) |
On Saturday August 13th the following members of the St. Peters & St. Nicholas Societies of Liverpool visited Bromborough and rang a true peal of Grandsire Triples comprising 5040 changes in 3hrs 12mins. |
These bells were opened on Easter Monday last: they were cast by Messrs John Taylor & Company, Loughborough. Full particulars of this new ring of bells with their inscriptions, weights etc were given in our March number. The above was the first peal performed upon them, and we hear that a suitable tablet is to be erected in the tower to record its performance.
| The annexed is the first course (210) changes of the first part of the peal. The second course is called in the same manner; the second single is omitted in the third course; and in the like manner, a bob is substituted for the last single in the fourth course; this brings up the first part end, 423567. The whole five times repeated, a single being substituted for the bob half-way and end.
