PAULINE GALLOWAY

1946-2002

The death of Pauline Galloway at the early age of 56 the week before Easter was a great shock to St Hilary's, Wallasey. Pauline had been unwell for some time but, following an operation, she was back home and was believed to be recovering well. Unhappily she suffered a relapse and was rushed back into hospital. We were dismayed to learn of her death the following day.

Pauline led an active life and had many interests of which bell ringing was only one. She was a regular church member and, with her son Sean, she learned to ring in 1991, quickly establishing her place in the band. She enjoyed her ringing and was an unfailing Sunday Service ringer. She never rang a peal although she rang several quarters.

A quiet and unassuming lady, she had a dry sense of humour and was well loved by all who knew her. Her passing leaves a gap both in the belfry and in our hearts that will be hard to fill.
