1. The above peal board is located above the entrance to the Ringing Chamber.
2. 'Local Company' is understood to mean resident in the locality and not a resident (Christ Church) band.

1. This peal preceded the same achievement at Liverpool Parish Church by a Liverpool resident band the following year.
2. 'Resident band' here is understood to mean resident in Wirral and not a resident (Christ Church) band.
3. The claim 'First Peal by all the band' is not exactly true since at least seven of the band (all except 4) are presently known to have rung peals on these bells. The claim, in all probability, refers to 'First of Surprise'.
Not recognised at the time, it is now believed that this was the first ever Peal by a Port Sunlight Sunday Service Band.
