The above plaque is on the North wall of the ground floor at the Tower, and commemorates the person who, we believe, was the first Wirral Branch Secretary. His grave, with much Latin inscription is just outside (on the other side of the wall). I understand he was not a ringer, (just) an administrator, but we like to think he may have been influenced by Elizabeth Barton of Caldy Manor, who was the daughter of Sir Arthur Percival Heywood, himself instrumental in augmenting our 5 to 8 in 1889, who composed and conducted our first peal, DNCBM. However this is mostly conjecture regarding F R T Bolton.
